Daisy Pearce’s Top Tips for a better night’s sleep

Maintaining a healthy sleep routine can be difficult. Busy schedules, stress, and lack of sleep hygiene can contribute to a sleepless night.

We sat down with Zurich Ambassador and Melbourne Football Club AFLW Captain Daisy Pearce to explore her top tips for getting a better night’s sleep, even when your mind has multiple tabs open:

  • Being active throughout the day is key. Post-season I was sleeping quite badly and I realised it was because I’d made a conscious effort to take a short break from exercise. Even a little bit of exercise daily helps.
  • Have a pre-bedtime ritual where you do something for yourself, some ‘me time’ which helps you unwind. I’ve recently started a skin routine and it’s when I stop for 10 minutes, unwind, and do something mindful. It’s been a revelation in terms of helping to me relax.
  • I am a big fan of sleep and meditation apps. Some are so good I can’t even tell you what happens at the end – I am already asleep! I use a few but my favourite is KIC (Keep it Cleaner), which has great sleep sessions as well as more holistic pilates and meditation resources

Why don’t you try some of these tips tonight? You’ll be surprised by the difference a good night’s sleep can make to your overall wellbeing.
