Zurich Business Pack Insurance is a flexible business pack for Australian small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) that combines property, liability, and business interruption cover in a single policy. Optional sections include burglary and money, equipment and plant breakdown, and glass.
Who is Zurich Business Pack Insurance for?
Australian business owners, operators, and their subsidiary companies typically small-to-medium enterprises seeking one consolidated policy instead of multiple standalone covers. Common users include retailers, tradespeople, professional services firms, hospitality operators, and light manufacturers.
What does Zurich Business Pack Insurance cover?
The Zurich Business Pack lets you select from a range of cover sections. Depending on your policy schedule, cover may include:
| Cover | What it protects | |
|---|---|---|
| Property | Physical damage to buildings, stock, machinery, and contents. | |
| Liability | Public and products liability for personal injury, third-party property damage, or advertising liability. | |
| Business Interruption | Cover for loss of business income resulting from an insured damage event. | |
| Burglary and Money | Loss or damage caused by theft, and loss of business money in transit or on-premises. | |
| Equipment and Plant | Breakdown of electronic equipment, computers, and engineering plant. | |
| Glass | Breakage of internal or external glass. |
Your broker can help tailor the combination of sections and limits to your industry and operations.
How the cover works in practice
These real-world scenarios show how Zurich Business Pack Insurance helps protect different business types:

Sanita owns a pharmacy. One morning she discovers the fridge displaying her probiotic treatments has broken down, creating a puddle of water on the floor. As she goes to retrieve the mop a customer enters the shop. The customer slips in the water and hits the floor, cutting his head.
The Protection
While Sanita's immediate concern was for her customer, once he was taken away in an ambulance it was then she breathed a sigh of relief. Her Business Insurance includes Machinery cover, which covered the cost to repair her fridge as well as replace the now spoiled probiotics. And thankfully because she also has Liability cover, her customer's medical expenses were covered.

Alan is a plumber working at a customer's house. He is digging holes along the boundary of the property and he doesn't realise he has significantly weakened the soil holding the neighbour's fence in place. When he arrives the next morning to continue his work, he finds the fence has completely fallen down overnight, collapsing onto the neighbour's car and significantly damaging it.
The Protection
While both the neighbour and his customer are very annoyed with Alan, his Liability cover means he can cover the cost of damage caused.

Delia owns three commercial units in a business park that she rents out. During a week of torrential rain, the business park is flooded.
The Protection
Fortunately, Delia's Business Insurance included standard flood cover, helping her pay for the repairs required to make the offices habitable again. And while these repairs were being made, Delia's additional Business Interruption cover replaced her lost rental income while the offices were unlettable.
