Zurich Australia announces Crop Insurance partnership
Zurich Financial Services Australia (Zurich) today announced a new partnership with agricultural specialist, Crop Risk Underwriting (CRU), to provide crop insurance in Australia from 1 June 2026.
Part of the 360 Group of Companies, CRU is a specialist crop insurance underwriting agency that combines agronomic insight with advanced technology, including its proprietary spatial‑temporal accumulation system, which enables real time and localised exposure management.
Through the new agreement, Zurich will provide capacity for CRU’s crop insurance products covering broadacre and cotton, protecting customers from hail and fire risks.
Alex Morgan, Head of General Insurance, Zurich said: “As Zurich continues to scale its general insurance business in Australia, this partnership not only offers a unique opportunity to expand into a new market, but also to collaborate with a specialist, data-driven organisation with sophisticated capability.”
“The agreement builds on Zurich’s extensive international experience in the crop insurance space and utilises bespoke AI-driven hail modelling developed by Zurich, to provide enhanced strength and capacity to CRU’s proposition. The combination of both organisations will build a true powerhouse in the agricultural protection sector,” Mr Morgan said.

CRU crop insurance is available through brokers for eligible farmers in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, and Western Australia.
