Zurich welcomes AFA and FPA merger
Zurich Financial Services Australia (Zurich) today welcomed the successful vote by members to merge the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) and the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA).
The creation of the Financial Advice Association of Australia Limited (FAA) represents a significant milestone for the industry and a further demonstration of the professionalisation of financial advice in Australia.
Kieran Forde, Chief Distribution Officer, Life & Investments, Zurich Australia said: “Members of these Associations should be congratulated for recognising the importance of strong and united representation given the significant regulatory and market forces impacting the profession.”
“Zurich is confident that this merger will create immediate benefits, not just for members, but also for consumers and the broader economy as we seek to enhance access to quality and affordable advice,” Mr Forde said.
