A moment with Matthew Drennan
Hello everyone, and thanks for taking the time to catch up on what’s happening at Zurich investments.
This September we are proudly celebrating 10years of partnership with American Century, our fund manager for the Zurich Investments Global Growth and Concentrated Global Growth Funds. The performance of both these funds I think justifies the faith you and your clients have placed in us. To mark the occasion we are having cocktail functions in Perth on 17 September, Melbourne on 18 September and Sydney on 19 September. The venues we have selected are top notch, so if for any reason you have missed your email invitation and would like to attend, please email us at email@example.com and we’ll make sure you get your invite.
We are also excited to have announced our new strategic investment partner, Celeste Funds Management, who have taken over the management of our Small Companies monies effective 12 August 2019. In addition, the Zurich Investments team will be distributing the Celeste Small Companies trust going forward, so you will hear much more about this in any upcoming meetings with our sales team.
It would be remiss of me not to congratulate our AREITs partner, Renaissance who has once again been nominated in the 2019 Zenith awards. They have won this for two years running, so we’re hopeful we’ll be making it an uneven three!
Steve Wreford from the Global Thematic team discussed quantitative easing with the Professional Planner team this month, and you can read his article here. Also, in this edition Steve has a piece on ‘Societal shifts as investments risks’, in which he argues traditional investment analysis tends to underestimate key risks faced by companies in today’s complex world. Might be worth looking into as Steve and his team have posted a 16.75% return in our flagship fund over the 12 months to end July 2019, adding a whopping 4.75% alpha.*
On top of all this there is our regular market update and a brief video on the Stowers Institute for Medical Research where you can learn how an investment in our Global Growth Funds could suit your clients who are looking to make a difference while growing their nest egg.
All in all, lots happening!
