'Wish You’d Known’ podcast series

Bringing together industry leaders and experts to help financial advisers excel in their professional journey.

We are excited to announce Zurich and OnePath have partnered with Glen James, lead host of hugely successful personal finance podcast ‘My Millennial Money’ to launch a new podcast series for Australian financial advisers called ‘Wish You’d Known’.

This newly launched podcast series draws on Glen’s industry experience which focuses on risk for new entrants to the industry, advisers who want to sharpen up their skills and be encouraged, or those who want to learn “one percenters” to improve themselves, client outcomes and their businesses.

Co-hosting the podcast series is our Risk Strategy Specialist Danni Visser, who has near 15 years’ experience working with high calibre advisers in education and engagement. These podcasts align with Zurich and OnePath’s commitment and support to the financial industry at a time where it is needed most.

“Our episodes are designed to get advisers across the “need to know” needles in the advice information haystack so insurance writers and industry entrants can avoid “Wish You’d Known” surprise and regret.” – Danni Visser

Each podcast breaks down one or more of the myriad of issues impacting financial advisers as they service their clients’ life insurance needs and best interests. Some hot topics include;

  • Understanding insurance PDS
  • Claims best practices
  • Mental Health and musculoskeletal issues
  • IP contracts deep dive
  • Lump sum covers
  • Moving to a risk only business model
  • Working with referral sources as a risk adviser
  • Current state of play with legislation and insurance

Glen presents with his own relaxed, conversational style of infotainment — information and knowledge wrapped in his trademark banter. He aims to teach in a light-hearted way while still managing to cover sensitive and important topics in an engaging way.

“As an adviser who focused on risk advice during my career, I was always concerned when I saw advice documents that clients had received from other advisers that had clear knowledge caps in the area of risk advice, and I wanted to help change that.” – Glen James

With the changes post royal commission, education standards, and the biggest changes we’ve seen in the advice space in a generation, I wanted to ensure that new entrants to the advice profession had a trusted source of information from experts..”– Glen James
