No. From 1 October until early May 2017 the quote and apply process will be via two systems, Zurich's ZXpress and Macquarie's Insurance Online. During this period, the only change to the ex-Macquarie system will be re-branding. This means the Life Insured Statement/Personal Statement will be virtually unchanged, and continue to be product-specific.
Will there be an increase in premiums on Macquarie business through the change?
No changes to premium rates were introduced on 1 October.
Will the current Zurich product continue or will it be closed to new business in the near future?
Zurich Wealth Protection will continue to be offered with plans to further enhance it in 2017. We believe Zurich Wealth Protection will be well complemented by the addition of Zurich FutureWise, Zurich Active and Zurich Sumo.
What will happen to the applications already in suspense prior to 1 October?
Any applications in suspense will continue to be processed as usual. The only change is that all policies issued from 1 October 2016 will be issued by Zurich Australia Limited under the Zurich brand, even if the paperwork at the time of application was to Macquarie Life Limited under the Macquarie Life brand.
Can I sell to overseas residents?
Zurich only offers insurance cover to Australian residents who apply for insurance from within Australia. This is an existing rule for Zurich Wealth Protection which will also apply to Zurich FutureWise, Zurich Active and Zurich Sumo from 1 October 2016.
