Leadership team

David Smith, Chief Executive Mr Smith has been with Zurich since May 2006. He has over 30 years experience and an MBA. He has a passion for corporate responsibility and sustainability and has been a leader in the insurance industry in this area.

Iain Howie, Chief Financial Officer Mr Howie joined the Australian business in April 2010 as CFO from his previous role as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Administration Officer (CAO) for the Asia-Pacific and Middle East Division (APME) and is responsible for coordinating and managing all financial aspects of the Zurich Australia operations, and administration aspects of the Asia-Pacific and Middle East Division of Zurich.

Shane Doyle, General Manager - General Insurance Mr Doyle comes to Zurich from AIG where he has held positions in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. He has industry experience of more than 20 years. Shane has overall responsibility for General Insurance in Zurich Australia and New Zealand. The General Insurance business is managed by three customer segments - Global Corporate, Mid Market/Commercial and Automated Business Solutions.

Colin Morgan, General Manager - Life Australia Mr Morgan joined Zurich in February 2009 and has worked in the financial services industry for 25 years both internationally, and in the Australian market. In his present role at Zurich, he is responsible for the Life Risk insurance business in Australia.

Matthew Drennan, General Manager – Zurich Investments Mr Drennan joined Zurich in February 2003 and has worked in the finance industry for over 23 years. Mr Drennan oversees investment mandates with Zurich Investment's strategic partners. Mr Drennan is a key industry opinion leader and is also active in communicating with the market about Zurich’s investment management capabilities and sourcing new products for the Australian market.

Bobby Lehane, Chief Information Officer Mr Lehane joined Zurich in November 2007. Since then he has focussed on enabling business strategies through innovative use of technology and in delivering superior service to Zurich customers. Mr Lehane is a skilled leader with a strong international record of delivering results. He has 16 years experience as an IT professional.

Cathy Manolios, General Counsel/ Head of Corporate Governance Ms Manolios has been with Zurich since 2002, and has over 20 years experience in the Financial Services sector. Ms Manolios manages the Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, Regulatory Affairs and Company Secretarial function, and acts as company secretary to a number of internal boards.

Anne O'Keefe, Head of Human Resources Ms O'Keefe has over 27 years experience in the financial services industry, and joined Zurich in 2006. She is responsible for the development and direction of the People strategy for Zurich in Australia and New Zealand.

Carolyn Tait, Head of Marketing Ms Tait joined Zurich in 2005, and has over 25 years industry experience. She is responsible for Zurich’s brand, image and profile through a range of supporting activities and functions – brand strategy, business marketing, PR, promotional events, corporate sponsorships, print and design, business online, website management, intermediary and corporate communications.

Rob White, Head of Corporate Communications Mr White has more than 40 years experience as a journalist and public relations/corporate affairs professional. He joined Zurich February 2003 and is responsible for internal and external communications, media relations, government relations, issues management and corporate responsibility.
