The Link Between

This is the first edition of a planned four-issues per-year electronic newsletter for the friends of Zurich Risk Engineering (ZRE) in the Asia/Pacific region. My name is Peter Boyle, the new editor for The Link Between. I joined ZRE approximately 20 years ago and had the pleasure of briefly meeting Peter Schroeder, the inspirational founder of ZRE.
A key tool in the development of the team, that now numbers over 1000 members around the world, was the original ‘Link Between‘. This quarterly printed newsletter pre-dated emails and the web and was crucial in building our network and communicating issues to engineers, underwriters and customers. Rolf Schmid was the editor for over 10 years and played a crucial role in developing the ZRE team culture that remains strong to this day.
Unfortunately, both Peter Schroeder and Rolf Schmid are no longer with us, both taken too young by cancer. This new evolution of The Link Between is dedicated to their memory. The Link Between refers to the role of Risk Engineering, providing the technical link between our customers and Zurich.
The intention of this publication is to provide topical issues of relevance to our regional customers and business partners and, to this end, we would like your feedback!
