Bushfires, droughts, floods ... the frequency of severe weather events seem to be on the increase, both in Australia and around the globe. As an industry, we need to deal with the impact of climate change. As brokers, we need to be aware of the risks and develop ways to pass our knowledge on to clients.
Our industry can play a central role in increasing its own and society’s resilience to climate change risks.
Zurich has taken a leadership role within the insurance industry, identifying the risks and opportunities of climate change. As part of this work, Zurich sent out the first survey in 2009 to capture your level of awareness on the risks of climate change.
NIBA is supporting Zurich’s second survey amongst its national members and is keen to identify whether your views have changed over the last 12 months.
