There’s a new top dog in electronic delivery: Z.streamXpress

A lot can change in seven years. Back in 2003 when Zurich first launched Z.stream, its electronic broking product was the best in the business.
“We were the first to market and we enjoyed great success,” says Zurich Chief Operating Officer Daniel Fogarty. “However our competitors followed us into the market and in doing so have used more up-to-date technology. The time has come to refresh our technology in response to broker needs.”

The result is Zurich’s new Z.streamXpress. The first product launched on this new platform was Workers’ Compensation in the underwritten states of Western Australia, the ACT and Tasmania.
“The great thing about the Workers’ Compensation product is it’s ease of use and full cycle functionality,” Fogarty says. “Brokers can use Z.streamXpress for new business, renewals and endorsements. The feedback so far has been very positive.”
Zurich will begin to pilot Business Insurance from July and, ultimately, many of Zurich’s general insurance products will be available through Z.streamXpress.
Fogarty stresses how important brokers have been in the development of Z.streamXpress. “We’ve listened to our brokers about what they wanted us to include in the latest version. We’ve improved the functionality and have addressed underwriting and pricing so that the offer is more competitive,” he says. “It’s another sign of the strong and positive dialogue we have with our brokers.”
Included in the new functionality is the ability to save quotes as you go and add attachments. Plus with new flexible navigation, obtaining a price is quicker and easier.
Zurich’s Workers’ Compensation brokers have been given training sessions on the new system. It’s the first time these brokers have used the new Z.streamXpress platform and Fogarty notes: “The system is very intuitive, which helps the brokers who’ve never used Z.stream.
“Workers’ Compensation has traditionally been a manually-processed business. The great thing about moving to electronic is that we believe you get many more efficiencies in the way work is conducted in the brokers’ office and it’s more consistent, which leads to better opportunities.”
Zurich plans to roll out new products on Z.streamXpress for the remainder of the year and into 2011. Fogarty’s enthusiasm for the technology is infectious. “We’ve developed it with brokers in mind and believe brokers should give it a go and see if we can do more business with them,” Fogarty says.
“We’re now more competitive when it comes to underwriting and pricing. It’s been a key focus of ours in developing Z.streamXpress and I encourage all brokers to check out Zurich.”
